An open sketchbook spread holding a frontal portrait of a woman whose hair is a thick mass of grey scaled snakes, edged in yellow. Her eyes are yellow with dark slit pupils, heavy red tears run from them down her grey cheeks, and one snake rears open-mouthed beside her while a scaled hand curls under her right eye.

A close view of one side of the face, angled so the grain of the paper catches the light. A single yellow slit-pupil eye weeps thick red tears above a dark navy lip, beside a scaled hand and the banded coils of a snake edged in yellow.
